I rang a few centres in the area and feeling the connection to some, i still continued to look. After driving past Westcourt ECLC (who wern't in the phone book! ((40335170)) dropped in and immedietly feel in love!It is such a warm, friendly, clean and organized place! The staff are fantastic and really do make you feel welcome! I enrolled my daughter who now can't wait to attend 'school' and begs to be able to go more then one day a week! they are also very lenient with casual days which comes in very handy!!
Have you noticed things have settled down at Tropical Kids yet or are you still having problems? There has been a noticeable increase in the numbers of children, and I find my kids have stayed in their rooms since then. My daughter went there today and was unwell, and the staff were fantastic and caring towards her. they had given panadol 9 with my consent) and wre giving her special care when I got there to collect her. i for one, am still very happy with the team at Tropical Kids.
I had the very same experience when I went to my assessment/interview with Pelicans in the city. My son has been there for close to 3 years now and despite the occasional staff changes and accompanied difficulties the standard of care.. especially from Jess the Director..has not faltered once..just the fact that they allowed you to watch the other children and their responses as they arrived is a really good sign.. children aren't really known for faking it and the atmosphere and general mood of the other kids is a very good sign. I know when there's a staff change now before I'm told.. the mood of the room changes - it's amazing. Congratulations on finding a happy safe place for your kids.
I agree that stuff can go missing, I have had the same problem. Most of the time the stuff seems to eventually come back again but I don't think that's a problem exclusive to Tropical KIds. As for the changing of rooms, I believe it is a temporary situation since the mass exodus of kids to school and should settle down within the next couple of months. On the positive side of this, my daughter has made new friends in other classes, and doesn't seem to mind the change of room. Hmmm.... the food, yes it isn't the greatest, and I have brought the issue up with the director. I think they are looking into it. It would be interesting to see what the Gordonvale branch of Tropical kids get fed, and their opinions
