The reviews for this hostel are deceiving because it depends what rooms you're in. Some rooms get access to one kitchen, other rooms get access to a different kitchen that is absolutely pathetic & dirty with almost no plates or utensils or anything. It can hardly be called a kitchen, yet I talked to another backpacker that had access to a different nicer kitchen. I can't figure this place out. Don't stay here.

Own private hut, wildlife and a bar what more does your average traveller need

The lady at reception was friendly & helpful. I chose a 4 room dorm with ensuite which was spacious (no bunks). Only complaint was the mattresses are very thin - I am only 60kg and I could feel the slats underneath. Kitchen next door to dorm was adequate, had everything required to prepare a meal. there were two small fridges that I can imagine get quite full when the hostel was full, but plenty of room in them when I was there. Meals at the on site bar were reasonably priced (maximum $12) but you get what you pay for. I had the chicken schnitzel & chips which was a bit greasy, but ok for the money. from other people's reviews, I should have got a pizza I think!

New Managers Jeff & Karen really make you feel welcome. They have brought new life and character to the hostel which is now looking and feeling great. Whether you are winding down in the bistro, relaxing by the pool or just enjoying the tranquil surroundings it is a fabulous place to stay.
