Best small cruise out to whitsunday islands. personalized. Only company that's allowed to take food and wine etc onto the island and bbq. Captain Brian and rod where a wealth of info.will definitely recommend it to all back in Sydney.

The summary up front: The Whitehaven Xpress day trip was the best day of our family holiday so thanks to these guys for making it so pleasant! My partner, my 15 month old son and I went out for a day with Whitehaven Xpress in the beginning of August 2012. It was a widely mixed group of people going that day: Families, older people, young couples speaking all sorts of different languages but the crew handled it very well and made sure nobody missed out on anything. We were picked up from our accomodation and the whole day went really smooth from there. The first boat ride to Whitehaven Beach took us approx. 1 hour where we passed many of the Whitsunday Islands. The upper deck of the boat allows you to take many pictures and Captain Brian is always there to tell you what islands you are currently looking at. We were also lucky to see whales on several occasions and the boat stopped a little while to enjoy the moment. Whitehaven Beach was great, my little boy went loopy because he liked it so much. We had an early BBQ lunch because we had to watch the tides for the next location, saw a few lizards in the bush but mainly enjoyed our time on the beach and in the water. The next boat ride was short and took us to a nearby lookout point where we had to walk to – 20 minutes each way – and the view from up there is just magic. You can shoot postcard pictures from up there, looking down to the whole area of Whitehaven Beach. The walk is really easy so I could easily carry my little boy. Another shortish boat ride takes you to the last spot of the day – a bay to snorkel. We saw many different fish of all imaginable sizes and colors but seeing a mantaray really blew our mind. It goes back to Airlie Beach from there which takes you another hour and we asked ourselfs at this stage how it was possible that the day went so fast. We had a great time. Matty and Asher were the only 2 guys taking care about us during that day and both of them were on the run all day to make sure everybody is happy. They were funny, encouraging and right on the spot were it matters all day long. I was just amazed by their performance because it must be hard to satisfy so many different people with different backgrounds and all their different expectations. They always had a smile left for really any situation and also helped parents with their kids on the sights.

An honest hard working crew, a pleasant trip, a reasonable price. What more can you ask for? The only thing I didn't enjoy was the long trek back to the marina around the south end of Whitsunday Island during the "sight-seeing" portion of the voyage. I would have enjoyed more snorkel and beach time.
